Project Description

Tango musician, producer, and scholar Pablo Aslan narrates the story of Astor Piazzolla, and his struggle to fulfill the dream of a New Tango. Illustrated with Piazzolla’s own recordings, this chapter traces his childhood experiences and influences, the musical environment in Buenos Aires, and his meteoric rise to fame in the early 1940s and 50s. For music lovers, musicians or not, Pablo’s lifetime experience playing and studying Piazzolla’s work makes for an entertaining and stimulating evening in Spanish.
